Obituary of John James Johnston

JOHNSTON – John James:  Passed away peacefully at Dover Cliffs Long Term Care Home while surrounded by his family on Monday, June 5, 2017 in his 101st year.  Son of the Late William and Annie (0’Brien) Johnston.  Loving father of Donna Cole (Ron), John (Donna), Barb Snow (Daryl), Betty Anne and Billy.  Cherished grandfather of Steven (Mary), Julie (Mark), Lorie (Mark), Chris, Tracy (Paula), John (Carolyn), Darren (Megan), Nathan, Stephanie, Brooke, Cheryl and was predeceased by grandson Jason.  Also surviving are his 17 great-grandchildren, sister Meta, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by 10 siblings.  John was an Overseas Veteran of  W.W.II.  and a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #158 Port Dover.  Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME, 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe where the funeral will be held on Friday at 11 a.m.  Legion Padre Reverend Bryan Robertson officiating followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery.  Those wishing to make a donation in John’s memory are asked to consider a Charity of One’s Choice.  Online condolences at www.baldockfuneralhome.com
