Obituary of Donald Murtland

MURTLAND – Donald Leroy:  Passed away peacefully at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in his 88th year.  Son of the Late Grace and William Murtland.  Much beloved husband of the late Yvonne (nee: O’Malley).  Loving father of Joe (Sue), Dawn Marie (George Baetz), Laurie (Erik Alkenbrack), Rose (Chris Fisher), James (Laurie) and Michelle Jayne (Ben Arts).  Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  Donald was predeceased his 8 siblings and his son-in-law Adrian Jayne.  Mr. Murtland retired from Beatrice Foods.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 211 Union St. Simcoe on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Cremation has taken place.  THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME, 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe in care of arrangements.  Those wishing to make a donation in Don’s memory are asked to consider Bird Studies Canada.  Online condolences at www.baldockfuneralhome.com
