Obituary of Alfred Alexander McPherson

McPHERSON - Alfred Alexander: (September 3rd, 1937- October 17, 2017), son of the late Anastasia and Alexander McPherson, passed away peacefully on October 17th in his 80th year. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Sabina McPherson (nee Kelloway, 1934-2013). Loving father of Mike, Vern (Linda), Sam, Karen (Johnny), and Natalie (Paul); cherished grandfather of Steven (James), Sarah (Ben), Adam, Camille, Jake, and Luke will all miss him dearly. He is survived by his siblings Joan Dorsay, John McPherson (Leona), Vernon McPherson (Lois), and many nieces and nephews. Alfred is also pre-deceased by his two siblings Mary Gillard and Patrick McPherson (Colleen). Alfred was known for his East Coast pride, as he originated from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia: a place he always considered his true home. His friends and family loved him for his kind heart, his wisdom, his love for adventure, his spontaneity, and his stubborn nature. He was an avid outdoorsman– his children and grandchildren have fond memories of hiking, camping, and fishing with him. Everyone who knew Alfred knew that he was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and he enjoyed watching anything related to Hockey. Alfred always made time for those he cared for, and has devoted much of his life extending a helping hand to those struggling with addiction.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST.
