Obituary of Jose Da Costa Carneiro

CARNEIRO - Jose Da Costa, 76, of Thunder Bay On, passed away, Friday February 15, 2019 at Hogarth Riverview Manor, surrounded by family. Jose was born December 26, 1942 in Lagoa, Acores, Portugal to Manuel Tavares and Deolinda Da Costa. He immigrated to Simcoe, On , Canada in 1970 and was married on June 27^th 1970 to the late Clotilde Rego (Borges) Carneiro. Jose was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved to have fun. He loved to share laughter with everyone he met. He will be missed by all the people he touched. Jose is survived by his son Michael Borges Carneiro, his granddaughter Maya Clotilde Carneiro, daughter in law Michelle Sixsmith, Sister Anna (Tavares) Lopes, Brother Manuel Carneiro and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. with Parish Prayers being said at 6 p.m. at THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME, 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday at 11 a.m. from ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 211 Union St. Simcoe.  Reverend Father Lucio Couto presiding.  Followed by interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  A reception to follow.
