Obituary of Richard McManis

McMANIS – Richard (Dick):  Passed away at  Parkview Meadows, Townsend, while surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 of Simcoe in his 92^nd year.  Son of the Late Richard and Louise McManis.  Much beloved husband for  70 years of the Late Sylvia (nee Doan),  Loving father of Dale McManis (Mike Edmonds), Cathy Stewart (Brian), Rick McManis (Janet), Paul McManis (Brenda Hazelwood) and the Late Donna Griffiths.  Cherished grandfather of  Carole Farrish (Craig), Craig Stewart (Jennifer), Micaela Santos (Marco), Ryan Edmonds (Ashleigh), Nicole Nagy (Rob), Erin McManis (Jake), Sarah McManis and great-grandfather of Megan, Emily, Leland, Lauren, Samuel, Mariah and Brett.  Also surviving is his sister-in-law Gwen Playter (Bud), niece Leanne Korsos (Andy) and was predeceased by his Inlaws Arthur and Alma Doan, siblings John McManis, Julia Boyle (Renee) and niece Carole Playter.  Dick was an Electrician and had retired from the Norfolk Board of Education where he was head of the Maintenance Department .  He with Sylvia had been very involved with The Simcoe Little Theatre, Black Cap Players, Langton Show Time, Simcoe Lions Club Show, just to name a few, providing lighting and prop’s of many productions.  Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m. at THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME, 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe.  Those wishing to make a donation in Dick’s memory are asked to consider The Simcoe Little Theatre or The Simcoe and District Humane Society.  Online condolences at www.baldockfuneralhome.com
