Obituary of Ede Pos

POS – Ede: Passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 16, 2016, while surrounded by his loving family in his 82nd year. Son of the Late Harry and Marie Pos. Much beloved husband of GloriaMae (nee: Soucie) for over 63 years. Loving father of Deborah Baldry (Scott), Jacqueline Walker (Dennis), Wendy McIntee (Brian) and Michael Pos (Kelly). Cherished grandfather of Bradley Shaw (Natalie), Brent Baldry (Deborah), Holly Pierre (Nigel), Reginald Walker (Jodi), Kevin McIntee (Tina), Stephen McIntee (Sarah), Krista Lichach (Simon), Adam Pos and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Jack Pos (Daisy), sisters Peggy Tisdale, Margaret Bigelow (Fred) and sister-in-law Marie Pos, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Peter and John (Bernice) and brother-in-law Paul Tisdale. Ede was a member of Lynnville United Church and had worked at the American Can Company as a electrician for 32 years. A life long member of the N.D.P. was named a Paul Harris Fellow from the Simcoe Rotary Club and was a member of the Simcoe Star-a-naders. The community was very important to Ede and he served on the boards of Norfolk Bd of Education, Simcoe Counceil, Regional Police Services, Ontario Hospital Association and Norfolk Community Foundation and received Commemorative Medal for 125th Anniversary of Confederation of Canada. Friends are invited to meet with the family at THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME, 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from LYNNVILLE UNITED CHURCH, Windham Rd. 11, Simcoe. Cheryl Fitch D.L.M. officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery of follow.
