Obituary of Violet Matecsa

MATECSA – Violet Palmer (nee Parkins):  Passed away at her residence, 5 Douglas Ave., Simcoe on Friday, November 9, 2018 of Simcoe in her 90^th year.  Daughter of the Late Sidney and Nina (nee Palmer) Parkins.  Much beloved wife of the Late Peter Matecsa (1979).  Loving mother of John Matecsa (Andrea) and Joyann Matecsa (David Robson).  Cherished grandmother of Zoie and Perin.  Vi was predeceased by her brother Lorne Parkins.  Born in Simcoe she was known to her older friends as Parky and everyone else as Vi.  She enjoyed dancing, fishing, swimming, making crafts, puzzles and reading mystery novels.  She was a positive person who was charitable with her time.  A graveside family service took place at Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.  A Celebration of Vi’s life will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Capri Room at THE ERIE BEACH HOTEL, 19 Walker St. Port Dover.
