Obituary of Lillian Marie McCloskey

McCLOSKEY – Lillian Marie:  June 10, 1926 - February 19, 2019.  It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Lillian Marie McCloskey on February 19, 2019 in Victoria, BC. She was just a few months shy of her 93rd birthday. Lillian is lovingly remembered by her daughter Nancy (Roy Collver), son Leo McCloskey (Marie), and daughter in law Beverly McCloskey. She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty years, Peter McCloskey (2007), and son Jim McCloskey (2012). She was the last surviving member of her birth family, and she felt fortunate to have come from a large one. Her parents Alois and Emma DeSerrano of Simcoe, Ontario, and her four brothers and three sisters predeceased her. Throughout life she filled many roles with style and grace - daughter, sister, cousin, legal secretary, wife, mother, aunt, and friend. Lillian had many adventures, travels, moves and challenges - a life well lived and well loved. She will be remembered by her extended family and friends, who enjoyed her strong independent character and kindness. In keeping with Lillian's wishes a graveside service will take place Tuesday, May 14 at the St. Mary's Cemetery, 271 Fourteenth Street West, Simcoe.  Reception to follow at the Baldock Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
